Late 1940s

Early roots

Public historical material traces the institution's earlier roots to the Evangelical Teachers Training College established by Swedish missionaries.

1962

The school moves to the site

Historical sources state that the Umphumulo school moved to the site in 1962.

1969

Vryheid State Zulu High School

The institution became known as Vryheid State Zulu High School, commonly referred to as “States”.

1992

A new school campus

A new school campus became operational.

1993

Becoming a comprehensive school

The institution became a comprehensive school.
